Busy day, when domains go away

yeah, Today DK-Hostmaster – The danish administrator of .dk domains – closed down 13.000 domains due to lack of payment.

This, of course, resulted in Wannafind.dk getting duzens of calls asking “Is there something wrong with your servers?”. Of course we then guided the customers to DK-hostmasters homepage where they would have to get in line to talk to DK-Hostmaster about their problem, lets just say their phonelines were *busy* all day :) and closing their phones at 14:00 didn’t help either, now people have to wait all weekend while their mail and websites are down. Not very good planning on DK-Hostmaster’s part.

What have I been up to?

Well, well, well – Havn’t had much time to blog, work is getting the best of me and there is little time for anything else.

So what have I been up to? I created an SMS Gateway for Wannafind.dk. It lets you send SMS messages directly from your website or our customers-area. Very cool and a good chance to learn some new stuff about GSM modems and their protocols and even some new areas of PHP. It’s always nice to learn new stuff, keeps it fun and interesting :)

I’ve also spent some time working on internal systems in Wannafind.dk, adding some features my co-workers wanted.
Of course I’ve also helped a lot of customers with their problems, mostly about setting up their mail-clients. For some reason it’s always me who are getting those calls, I’ll be damned if I know why.
