Hot damn, olson twins!

13 Apr

If I say “Olson Twins”, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? That’s right.

Anyway, just for the fun of it, you might want to have a peak at this trailer. Will this movie be popular? Yes… Because it’s a good movie? No…

Just for the fun of it

Is it the “right” time to buy a LCD screen?

10 Apr

The powerbutton on my compaq 17″ CRT screen doesn’t work anymore. This of course can be annoying when trying to sleep. So I think it’s time to find a new screen.

The obvious choice is of course a flatscreen, it’s the future, no doubt. But flatscreens are expensive, expecially when it’s a technolegy which is on the move all the time, what’s hot now can be old and rusty in a week.

Anyway; So I know I have to get a flatscreen. At work we have the Samsung SyncMaster 191T, they are really awesome. The max resolution is not what I had expected from a 19″ screen, they can only handle 1280×1024.

The way I see it, 1280×1024 is something you run on a 17″ and 1600×1200 is what you run on a 19″. After browsing shg.dk‘s selection of flatscreens I however quickly noticed that flatscreens that can run 1600×1200 are rare – and expensive.

So anyway, I’m thinking of getting a Samsung SyncMaster 193T, black. It’s state-of-the-art, but expensive and as I said; it could be yesterdays news in a week.

Any suggestions? Is it the “right” time to buy a LCD screen?

Serendipity v0.6-rc1

04 Apr

The serendipity development team is proud to present the first release
candidate of s9y 0.6. Even though the s9y team is not aware of any
serious outstanding bugs, it is recommended to test this release not
on a productive blog yet. If no bugs are discovered the final version will be available a short time after.

Work has already begun on 0.6.1-CVS, where bleeding-edge users can take
a look at improvements in the multi-user interface.

Upgrading is easy thanks to the new upgrade script. Just extract files
in the directory of your s9y blog and access the page, and you will
be guided through the following steps. A detailed explanation can be
found in our README file.

If you face any problems or bugs with this release, please report them
on our developer’s mailinglist, hosted at SourceForge.
